Facial Exercises: Your Secret Weapon Against Aging
Performing a regular regimen of face fitness can help maintain a youthful and healthy appearance. Unlike the skeletal muscles that are attached to bone, facial muscles are attached to the skin that covers them. As we age, these facial muscles start to lose their elasticity and tone, causing the skin to sag, creating wrinkles and lines.
Dedication and up most commitment are an important part of this, and the results will not occur immediately; you are going to have to really work to get results. That said, lines (especially fine lines) and sagging will be reduced eventually, and your muscle tone will be improved.
Both old people and young people can enjoy facial exercises; age doesn’t matter, your face is always going to get certain wrinkles and you can do these exercises even if you’re very young. They make discoloration (and puffiness) go down and make the face have a good tone and glow.
If you are considering trying out these exercises, it is a good idea to first learn how the facial muscles work and which muscles control our expressions, and how. Each expression we have is controlled by different muscle groups and this article will help you understand how to exercise the appropriate ones.

Before starting any facial exercises, it’s important to lubricate the skin lightly with oil or water. To improve muscle tone around the eyes, a simple set of exercises should be performed. This simple exercise is done by partially winking the eye and holding it for a second. There is no need to exaggerate this notion or to scrunch the eye up. Perform fifty of these winks with each eye each day.
Stretching is essential to improve your mouth muscles. Put your fingers in your mouth at the corners and pull them out. This is not done to make your mouth get over-stretched, but rather to constrict the facial muscles and create tension near your fingers. Only make your mouth extend a quarter of an inch.
Neck muscles can lose a great deal of their overall tone over time. To tighten those muscles, tilt your head back slightly, somewhere between twenty and thirty degrees. During the process of tilting you head back, press your tongue against the roof of your mouth. You should feel tension just under your chin and in your neck muscles. To complete the exercise, tilt your chin back down leaving your tongue against the top of your mouth. Repeat this motion twenty to thirty times each day and you will see tighter tone in your neck muscles. Taking care of your face is important. As we age, we can take on a haggard look as wrinkles and sagging appear. If you want to avoid these signs of aging, you can add these facial exercises plus others to your daily schedule.
